Online Quiz - September 12

Posted 07 Sep, 2020 04:07 PM by Stephen

As we start the new quiz year, we will be doing the first few quizzes online since we are still dealing with COVID-19.

  • A link to the video conference will be sent to coaches either Friday night or Saturday morning.
  • Each quizzer will need their own device that can connect to the internet in order to join the video conference and navigate to the website we'll use for "jumping." If multiple people are together in one room, all of them should have headphones with mics in order to avoid a bunch of feedback.
  • We'll start at 9:00am since no one has to drive a long distance, so feel free to start joining the conference any time between 8:30 and 9:00.
  • Material is Matthew 1-4.
  • Review General Info, particularly:
    • For your new quizzers: Photo release forms
    • Note that there will be no registration fees for the quizzes we do online.
  • Register your team(s) after you sign up/log in.
  • Register any memory verse awards:
  • Let Stephen know if you have a quizzer or adult who would be willing to share how God has been using the quizzing material in their life.
  • We'll probably keep the day a little shorter, and since we'll be starting a little earlier, we'll try to wrap everything up before lunch.
  • Awards will be a little different this year since we can't just hand trophies/medals to the winners, but we have some good stuff in the works. Details will be announced at the quiz.
  • Note that QuizFest has been canceled this year.

District Finals @ Wheeler - March 14

Posted 09 Mar, 2020 09:22 PM by Stephen

Note: this quiz was canceled due to COVID-19.

  • Location is Wheeler New Life.
  • Arrive by 9:30am.
  • Material is Hebrews 1 - 2 Peter 3.
  • New quizzers need a photo release form.
  • Register your team(s) after you sign up/log in.
  • Register any memory verse awards (cupcakes!):
  • As we discussed at the October quiz, we'll spend a little time sharing about the people from our lives that come to mind as we reflect on Hebrews 6:12 ("We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised"). Let Stephen know if you or one of your quizzers would be willing to share about someone who has made a difference in their lives and who set an example of faith and patience that they desire to imitate.
  • Encourage your quizzers to reflect on how Hebrews/Peter have impacted their lives this year and prepare to share some of those thoughts. Adults too.
  • Lunch is TBD, but should be available at the church.
  • We will be selecting the district team for Celebrate Life. We will only have one team, but we will take at least six quizzers. Depending on other activities those quizzers are involved in, we may add a seventh. If your quizzers might possibly make the district team, please come prepared with their availability for practices.
  • The top 5 will also form the district team for Q2020.
